I bring 25 years of qualitative research practice and ongoing work in AI governance to organisations in pharmaceutical, healthcare, and technology sectors — helping them understand what stakeholders actually think, and ask harder questions about whose assumptions are built into the systems they are deploying.
1. Market Research & Qualitative Studies
For over 25 years, I have conducted qualitative research for organisations in pharmaceutical, healthcare, and technology sectors — carrying out 700+ stakeholder interviews and providing ongoing strategic support to decision-makers navigating complex, evidence-thin environments.
This is not one-off research delivery. My work has supported clients through repeated decision cycles: interpreting what the data does and does not say, identifying the questions that were not asked, and translating findings into strategy that holds up under scrutiny.
Areas of work include:
- In-depth stakeholder interviews and observational research across pharmaceutical, healthcare, and technology sectors
- Stakeholder mapping and perception research
- Research design and qualitative methodology consultation
Available for project-based and ongoing engagements.

2. AI Governance Training & Workshop Facilitation (delivered in English or Japanese)
I design and deliver AI governance training for organisations in regulated industries — helping teams move beyond compliance checklists toward a more critical understanding of what AI systems actually do, and whose assumptions shape how they do it.
This includes questions that technical training rarely raises: whose values are embedded in the system’s design, what cultural assumptions are treated as defaults, and where the gaps between intended and observed behaviour appear.
Recent work includes two modules delivered in Japanese for a pharmaceutical company’s AI Academy, commissioned through a UK-based learning and development firm.
Areas of work include:
- AI governance and accountability for regulated industries
- Cross-cultural dimensions of AI risk
- Workshop facilitation for non-technical teams and leadership
Available for commissioned training programmes and workshop facilitation, in English and Japanese.

3. Speaking & Keynote
I speak on AI governance, cross-cultural AI risk, and the socio-technical dimensions of how AI systems are designed, evaluated, and held accountable — bringing a perspective that moves AI governance beyond purely technical framings.
Recent engagements include:
- 2nd International Conference on Large-Scale AI Risks, KU Leuven, Belgium (2026)
- ADBI–JICA International Workshop: “AI in Healthcare: Who Designs, Who Decides, Whose Values?”
- Women in Tech × FEW Japan: “AI and Society: Ethics, Culture, and Representation”
Available for conference presentations, panel discussions, and keynote engagements in English and Japanese.

4. Research Collaboration & Fellowship
My research sits at the intersection of AI governance, qualitative methodology, and cross-cultural analysis — with a particular focus on behavioral accountability and the structural dimensions of how AI systems are designed and evaluated.
I am open to research collaborations and fellowship opportunities in AI governance and AI safety, particularly where non-Western perspectives, multilingual contexts, or regulated industry settings are relevant.
Current work includes the “Beyond Technical Compliance” series (SSRN, Papers I–III) and an ongoing co-authored paper on AI as a socio-technical system.
If you are working on something where this intersection is relevant, I am open to conversation.
